Resolution of Notices of Violation (NOVs)

We provide timely services for the correction, remediation, and restoration of both Degraded Sites and sites under a Notice of Violation from regulatory agencies.

These sites can possess Protected Natural Resources as defined under Maine’s Natural Resources Protection Act and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers jurisdiction from Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.; for example:

  • Shoreland Zoning – coastal, riverine, lake, and wetland resources
  • Wetlands – including Wetlands of Special Significance as defined under Maine’s Natural Resource Protection Act
  • Streams
  • Vernal pools
Restoration of the 25 feet wide shoreline buffer. The Revegetation Plan describes the native plant taxa selected for this micro environment.
Multiple erosion control measures are employed and maintained until the soil is stabilized by new growth.
MDEP requires trees to be planted in this 25 feet wide buffer zone. As the trees mature, any pruning is regulated by MDEP, as are existing forested buffer zones in the Shoreland Zone
